Carpenter Apprentice

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

• A. Setup trailers
• B. Build decks, stairs, roofs and other temporary structures between office units, plan tables, install shelves, setup tool trailers and/or conex’s, silt fences and/or straw bales, setup site per erosion control plan
• C. Hand-set forms and/or assemble the gang forms
• D. Assist journeyman and foreman with the shooting of grades and elevation
• E. Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect of all pre-fabricated materials
• F. Concrete and rough carpentry

  • 2. Footings
  • 3. Set Gang Wall Forms
  • 4. Structural Concrete Decks
  • 5. Drywall
  • 6. Finish Carpentry, doors, frames, and hardware
  • 7. Millwork and cabinetry
• G. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• H. All other duties as assigned

• A. Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
• B. Ability to picture solid objects from drawings or diagrams
• C. Some ability to read plans
• D. Ability to operate equipment such as: table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging and form systems
• E. Strong teamwork orientation.
• F. Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
• G. Detail orientation
• H. Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

• A. High school diploma or GED
• B. Enrolled in apprenticeship program
• C. Previous experience on a construction site preferred
