Responsibilities

• Derive and allocate requirements into detailed design
• Design, develop, and test displays, controls and functionality
• Collaborate with Systems and Quality Engineers to ensure software requirements are met
• Perform software peer reviews, version control, automated tests, software analysis, continuous integration and continuous delivery in accordance with Dev Sec Ops  processes
• Perform code quality management and correct defects
• Coordinate with HW/SW team to perform retests and regression tests once defects are corrected

Candidate Should Have

• Previous practical experience bridging requirements into software design and implementation, including work in DOORs and architecture models into code
• Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins or Git Lab
• Experience working on cross‑function Scrum teams focused on quality and capability delivery
• Experience with C/C++ development
• Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops , continuous integration, and continuous delivery
• Familiarity with distributed version control software (Git, Mercurial)
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework – SAFe for Lean Enterprises

Work Schedule

The standard work schedule is 9/80, allowing employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Competitive relocation assistance may be offered.

Job Qualifications

Software Engineer: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience;
Master’s and 0 years of related experience; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience;
Master’s and 3 years of related experience;
PhD with one year of related experience or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Required for Both Levels

• U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance, investigation date within the last 6 years
• Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable timeframe
• 2+ years of C++ development and object‑oriented design
• Experience with Agile software development
• Experience with Atlassian tool suite
• Experience with SWE development in a Linux environment
• Experience with code design documentation using UML
• Familiarity with Model‑Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field
• Experience with software development using a Dev Ops pipeline
• Experience with Hardware/Software interface design
• Experience with software and hardware certification/accreditation
• Experience with embedded systems
• Experience with databases (structure, design) and query languages
• Experience with real‑time operating systems
• Experience with secure software development such as DO-178C compliant or similar
• UML modeling experience using Cameo
• Experience with JavaScript, Python languages
• Experience in a formal technical lead position

Salary

Primary level: $77,200.00 – $. Secondary level: $95,300.00 – $. Salary determined by scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions.
