Transportation Manager

Job Summary

The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring prompt and efficient service to our customer base.

• Supervise the Fleet Manager and Route Supervisor in relation to daily operations of the fleet.
• Manage transportation of raw materials and outgoing finished product.
• Oversee routes and routing process, making adjustments as necessary for efficiency; schedule drivers ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
• Set schedules and start times for raw material transfer drivers to maintain constant flow to the plant.
• Involved in hiring, training, and safety orientation of new drivers.
• Monitor DOT logs and driver timecards to guarantee compliance with regulations.
• Maintain current accounts and enlist new accounts in designated area.
• Provide prompt, efficient, quality service to all customers in area.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in route‑based processes, including prior route delivery driving, supervision of route drivers, and diesel mechanics/truck maintenance.

• Valid CDL Class A driver's license with clean driving record.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with superior time‑management skills.
• Ability to maintain composure and adapt to changing situations.
• Leadership ability; able to direct and supervise others.
