General Ledger Accountant

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Type: 9‑month contract Compensation: $35‑45/hour (DOE)

Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented General Ledger Accountant to support core accounting operations with a focus on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accountant who has strong reconciliation skills, is comfortable supporting month‑end close, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
CPA is not required.

• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
• Perform month‑end and quarter‑end close activities
• Complete balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
• Maintain accuracy of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
• Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with preparation of internal financial reports
• Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
• Partner with senior accounting staff on close and reporting activities
• Assist with process improvements and documentation
• Support ad hoc accounting projects as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2‑5+ years of general ledger or corporate accounting experience
• CPA not required
• Working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with month‑end close and account reconciliations
• Familiarity with ERP systems (Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred)
• Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables preferred)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

• Experience in a corporate or shared services environment
• Exposure to system implementations or process improvements
• Prior contract or project‑based accounting experience
