General Ledger Accountant
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Type: 9‑month contract Compensation: $35‑45/hour (DOE)
Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented General Ledger Accountant to support core accounting operations with a focus on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accountant who has strong reconciliation skills, is comfortable supporting month‑end close, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
CPA is not required.
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Perform month‑end and quarter‑end close activities
- Complete balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
- Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with preparation of internal financial reports
- Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Partner with senior accounting staff on close and reporting activities
- Assist with process improvements and documentation
- Support ad hoc accounting projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2‑5+ years of general ledger or corporate accounting experience
- CPA not required
- Working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Experience with month‑end close and account reconciliations
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred)
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables preferred)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience in a corporate or shared services environment
- Exposure to system implementations or process improvements
- Prior contract or project‑based accounting experience
