We Are Hiring:Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Assistant
Position Overview
The AP/AR Assistant will support the Finance team in managing day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of all financial transactions. This role is ideal for someone with a basic accounting background who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in nonprofit finance operations.

- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and payment requests.
- Record bills and payments in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books).
- Ensure approvals, proper documentation, and compliance with internal policies.
- Reconcile vendor statements bridging the gap between initial estimates and final actuals and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in month-end closing of AP accounts.
- Prepare and send invoices to donors, partners, and clients.
- Record receipts and track payments in accounting system.
- Reconcile donor contributions and client accounts.
- Follow up on overdue payments and coordinate with relevant teams.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
- Assist with basic reporting for Finance Manager.
- Support audits by providing required documents and explanations.
- Identify errors or irregularities and propose corrective actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in AP/AR or accounting operations.
- Familiarity with accounting software (Quick Books experience preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, especially AP/AR processes.
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
- Familiarity with gift processing and donor acknowledgment procedures.
- Understanding of grant compliance and reporting to funders.
