Project Accountant
The Project Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate tracking of costs, budgets, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of accounting experience within the construction industry and demonstrate expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Financial Management: Monitor and report on project budgets, forecasts, and actual costs to ensure adherence to financial parameters.
- Cost Control: Track project expenses, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs, while identifying variances from established budgets.
- Billing and Invoicing: Prepare and issue timely project invoices, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and client requirements.
- Reconciliation: Conduct regular reconciliations of project accounts, encompassing progress billing, retainage, and change orders.
- Reporting: Generate comprehensive financial reports for project managers and executives, providing insights into project profitability and overall financial performance.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulations, and company policies, particularly concerning project accounting practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, estimating teams, and other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding project financials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices and principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Compensation: 75k - 115k depending on experience and qualifications
