PSE's Office of Controller team is looking for a Tax Senior Accountant.
Job DescriptionThe Tax Senior Accountant performs complex accounting and analysis functions under general direction, participates in daily and monthly accounting processes, ensures SOX procedures for compliance, and supports continual improvement of processes, safety compliance, and ethical conduct.
Job Responsibilities- Participate in the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Create, gather, analyze, and maintain sufficient records to support the monthly tax accrual and tax return.
- Maintain tax fixed asset schedules and supporting work papers.
- Support and educate other departments on tax matters.
- Identify and resolve more complex tax issues or opportunities with assistance.
- Lead or consult on special projects within the tax department.
- Comply with internal controls and actively update SOX 404 procedures.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company and the taxing authority.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors to support tax compliance and ongoing business activities.
- Keep up-to-date on current tax law changes, pronouncements, and issues.
- Perform and enhance tax policies, procedures, controls, and documentation.
- Respond to requests from management and other departments, represent the department at company meetings.
- Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff and cross‑train with other staff members.
- Company & Industry Acumen – Consistently apply industry knowledge when developing analysis; understand stakeholders and circulate findings accordingly.
- Collaboration – Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve business objectives and lead projects to completion.

- Leadership – Lead by example, provide guidance and assist with training of junior staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent education/experience.
- 3+ years of directly relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and technical application.
- Strong ability to analyze and report on financial information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word, Access.
- Licensed Certified Public Accountant.
- Master of Taxation or other advanced degree.
- Utility taxation experience.
- Experience with One Source/GoSystem RS, Power BI, Alteryx, RIA Checkpoint.
Pay range: $82,000.00 – $; position eligible for annual goal‑based incentive bonuses.
