Overview
Do you want your tax expertise to power organizations that are actually changing their communities? As a Tax Manager, you’ll lead engagements that go well beyond compliance, solving complex technical challenges and advising clients on smart planning while mentoring the next generation of tax professionals.
Responsibilities- Manage tax engagements by planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reviewing compliance work.
- Delegate tasks to staff, communicate regularly with clients and internal teams, and review completed work.
- Review tax returns and work papers to ensure accuracy and compliance with professional standards and regulations.
- Approve return processing and serve as a technical resource by providing careful review and feedback.
- Research technical issues and communicate findings to staff or clients.
- Provide consulting services related to tax planning and compliance, including preparing technical memoranda.
- Assist clients with IRS examinations, appeals, and other related practices.
- Manage client relationships through active communication, timely responses, and clear deadline setting.
- Participate in activities that support practice development and firm growth strategies.
- Assume administrative duties that promote efficiency and compliance with professional standards.
- Deliver in-house technical training to staff and stay current through required CPE courses.
- Mentor and support engagement staff by providing feedback during and after the engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or a combination of education and directly related work experience.
- CPA license or an equivalent credential.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible public‑accounting experience with demonstrated expertise in taxation and compliance.
- Proven supervisory or lead experience.
- Ability to pass a background check, including a credit check, as a condition of employment.
$119,000 minimum to $164,657 maximum.
