Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the accounting team on a contract basis. This role will be responsible for managing key month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Lead or support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Analyze financial statements and investigate variances
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure timely recording of transactions
• Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions
• Support audit requests and help prepare documentation for internal and external auditors
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting controls
• Assist with process improvements and cleanup projects as needed
• Partner with cross-functional teams including FP&A, AP, AR, and payroll
• Support special projects related to reporting, systems, and operational accounting
