POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This position of Registrar is done for the purpose of being responsible for the point of contact with internal and external individuals (students, staff, parents, and the public) to register, enroll, and withdraw students at a high school. The position is also responsible for participating in the development, administration, and maintenance of the computerized class scheduling system for assigned school and performing administrative support tasks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
(These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
* Initiate the registration process to enroll and/or withdraw students including but not limited to requesting student records, verifying student's home address and immunization records. Register students in district special programs.
* Participate as a team member in the development, administration and maintenance of the district's computerized class scheduling system. Maintain course master list and update list as necessary.
* Prepare reports but not limited to enrollment numbers and full-time equivalents.
* Maintain student records, review of foreign transcripts, student addresses, enrollment data, academic records and cumulative files. Track enrollment eligibility, verify documents, ELL status and act as liaison with student placement office and school (within and outside of the District.)
* Greet and orient new families and students to the District's policies and procedures relating to mandated forms that need to be completed.
* Organize and prepare student information packets.
* Schedule students in courses and sections as determined by academic counselor/administrator
* Process student withdrawals and transfers.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to and is supervised by Building Administrator.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
Required:
* A high school education or the equivalent and two years of increasingly responsible administrative support work or records maintenance experience.
Preferred:
* Work experience in a school environment is highly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
* Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures
* Knowledge of federal, state, and related laws and procedures regarding to schools is preferred.
* Knowledge automated information systems software.
* Knowledge of customer service techniques and principles is necessary to work with a diverse group of individuals including individuals from foreign countries.
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
* Excellent oral and written communications skills are necessary to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
* Skill in performing data entry techniques.
* Ability to work in team environment.
* Ability to meet established District attendance expectations and procedures.
* Ability to be available to staff and the general public during business hours .
* Ability to analyze and evaluate information to determine the accuracy of data.
* Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
* Ability to work with hostile and angry individuals in a calm and diplomatic manner.
* Ability to maintain a working relationship with District staff, parents, and the general public.
* Ability to review and maintain detailed information.
* Ability to work independently and meet established deadlines.
* Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
* The ability work in a constantly changing work environment with interruptions.
* Ability to perform all duties in accordance with all applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements.
* Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
* Valid first aid and CPR certificate, if assigned to a health clinic.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
* Required to meet rigid and inflexible deadlines.
* Experiences numerous interruptions to concentration.
* High accuracy, concentration, accountability and confidentiality requirement.
* Required to work with individuals having diverse needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
