Position Objective
This Registrar position serves as the primary point of contact for students, staff, parents, and the public to register, enroll, and withdraw students at a high school. The role also involves participating in the development, administration, and maintenance of the computerized class scheduling system for the assigned school and performing related administrative support tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities- Initiate the registration process to enroll and withdraw students, including requesting records, verifying addresses, immunization records, and enrollment in special programs.
- Collaborate with the team on development, administration, and maintenance of the district’s computerized class scheduling system; maintain and update the course master list.
- Prepare enrollment reports and full‑time equivalent analyses.
- Maintain student records, review foreign transcripts, addresses, enrollment data, academic records, and cumulative files; verify enrollment eligibility, documents, ELL status, and liaise with placement offices.
- Greet and orient new families and students to district policies and mandatory forms.
- Organize and prepare student information packets.
- Schedule students in courses and sections as directed by academic counselors or administrators.
- Process student withdrawals and transfers.
Reports directly to the Building Administrator.
Required Education & Experience- A high school education or equivalent and at least two years of increasingly responsible administrative support or records maintenance experience.
- Work experience in a school environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and procedures related to schools.
- Knowledge of automated information systems software.
- Knowledge of customer service techniques and principles for a diverse audience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for explaining technical information to a non‑technical audience.
- Proficiency in data entry and analysis.
- Teamwork, independence, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to confidential information.
- Calm, diplomatic interaction with hostile or angry individuals.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Valid first aid and CPR certificate if assigned to a health clinic.
- Meet rigid deadlines and handle frequent interruptions.
- Maintain high accuracy, concentration, accountability, and confidentiality.
- Work independently and with diverse needs.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while managing multiple critical tasks.
Typical duties include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally, and exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
Conditions of EmploymentPay range: $36.36–$38.31 per hour; 40 hours per week for a 232‑day annual assignment. Covered by the collective bargaining agreement. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, long‑term disability, life‑insurance, and retirement through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.
