Primary Purpose

The Industry Manager is responsible for establishing and driving clear industry strategy and providing leadership and direction to the Product Portfolio Managers for the designated industries as assigned. Activities include giving the business unit appropriate direction, planning and executing growth strategies, and managing and expanding product lines and supplier relationships. This role manages profit and loss for a global portfolio of product lines.

The Industry Manager collaborates with Marketing, Sales, and other teams across the organization to define and refine processes and meet and exceed supplier, customer, and internal expectations.

What You'll Do
  • Maintain effective relationships with assigned suppliers and act as a liaison for vendor and field relations
  • Stay abreast of product trends and industry developments and pursue new products and vendors to ensure the most effective product and vendor mix
  • Generate industry strategies based on end‑market growth, financial analysis, and marketing objectives
  • Monitor and analyze product sales and profitability and ensure compliance with established goals
  • Lead a team of product managers and product specialists
  • Maintain close communication with marketing, sales, and operations teams
  • Conduct in‑house supplier updates to enhance industry performance, as required
  • Understand and practice the guiding principles
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited four‑year institution or equivalent work experience (required)
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, strategic marketing, and sales with the chemical and ingredients industry
Specialized Knowledge/Skills
  • Experience and strong knowledge of using PC and Windows OS, database experience desired
  • Knowledge and experience working with MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills
  • Ability to determine and establish appropriate collaboration and communication points (people, teams, organizational relationships) to achieve supply chain and service advantages and targeted solutions
  • Consultative selling skills
  • Exhibits versatility when interacting with customers, suppliers, and outsourced relationships
  • Active listening skills with ability to adjust behavior style to successfully interact with others when addressing challenges
  • Effectively conveys ideas and concepts via multiple modes of communication
  • Knowledge of ChemPoint products & value‑added services and industries served
  • Problem‑solving and negotiation
  • Customer and territory management
  • Knowledge of pricing and marketing strategy
Where You'll Work

This is a hybrid role in Bellevue, WA or The Woodlands, TX but we are open to considering candidates based in other locations.

Pay and Benefits
  • The salary range for this position is $133,160 – $166,450 annually.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
