Director Of Social Justice Center

The Director of the Social Justice Center reports to the Vice President of the Office of Community Care and Institutional Transformation (OCCIT) and provides strategic leadership and the direction for the Social Justice Center (SJC). This position manages all day-to-day responsibilities associated with the SJC, including programming, staffing, outreach and engagement. This role supports the mission and vision of the Office of Community Care & Institutional Transformation and supports the activities and needs of the office.

Additionally, the position provides staff support for employee affinity groups and engages the campus community in activities and events that support social justice education and inclusive community development.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

Position Salary Range: $93,880/year - $136,126/year

The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hire starts no higher than $104,442/year based on Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule.

We offer comprehensive compensation package with salary and benefits as the main components. The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which means that you are not eligible for overtime pay.

About the Department

The Office of Community Care & Institutional Transformation has a primary function at Bellevue College of centering the people that make up our community. We understand the root causes of harm and disrupt behaviors that sustain systems rooted in a false belief in human hierarchy through continuous learning and collaborative practices. We are responsible for advancing community care in all of our institutional strategies and practices.

Essential Functions

Social Justice Center Management

• Engages, supports and educates the campus community on social justice issues related to campus care and inclusive campus transformation efforts.

• Leads and implements calendar of events and programs for the SJC in support of employees and students.

• Prepares internal end of year engagement reports and reports regarding external collaborations for OCCIT and SJC efforts.

• Establishes procedures for, interprets and applies the administrative policies for the work of the unit.

• Coordinates, plans, organizes, and budgets special projects and events in collaboration with other departments as defined by the Vice President
