Description

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager – Technical (PMT) to lead the vision and execution of customer decision modeling and assortment rationalization strategies for limited shelf‑space programs (e.g., Same Day). This role focuses on advancing substitution science, customer behavior modeling, and a new suite of worldwide assortment quality metrics. Our work directly impacts fast‑growing businesses delivering “need‑it‑now” selection to customers within hours.

As a Sr. Product Manager–Tech, you will set the long‑term vision and establish the mechanisms required to execute assortment rationalization strategies across Amazon’s fast delivery programs worldwide. You will partner closely with cross‑functional teams to translate strategy into scalable, data‑driven solutions. Acting as an ambassador for automation, you will own the end‑to‑end product vision, define requirements across programs and geographies, and ensure alignment with broader business goals.

You will blend strategic thinking with hands‑on execution. You set high‑level strategy and influence senior leadership, while also diving deep into models, inputs, and data to validate assumptions and unblock teams. You are fluent in scientific and analytical concepts, and you use data to drive prioritization, trade‑offs, and technical direction. You make principled decisions without sacrificing quality and consistently deliver results on schedule.

The ideal candidate has a passion for assortment modeling and a proven track record of leading complex cross‑org initiatives. You are experienced in navigating ambiguity, influencing senior leadership, and delivering results in highly visible environments. You not only define high‑level strategy but also roll up your sleeves to execute. You bring a diverse toolkit for unblocking challenges, building mechanisms, and cultivating trusted partnerships across organizations.

This is a highly visible role with significant executive exposure. You must be able to author high‑quality documents for senior leadership, define a multi‑year roadmap aligned to Amazon’s strategic objectives, and drive execution across distributed teams. Exceptional written, verbal, and analytical skills are required.

Key job responsibilities
  • Leading with vision and change to bring new or evolve existing innovative substitution and customer behavior modeling across limited shelf‑space banners
  • Establish effective and data‑driven mechanisms to convey system and process gaps across multiple orgs
  • Approach complex business problems, aligning divergent stakeholder teams to a common plan
  • Work closely with technical teams to understand root causes of customer pain points and drive the right solutions to exceed customer expectations
  • With input from business stakeholders, develop business and product requirements, prioritize needs, and manage milestones and overall roadmap. Create buy‑in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive‑level prioritization and planning
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, Quick Sight
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
