Risk Analyst

This role reports to the Terra Power Project Management Office under either the Enterprise Risk Management or Project Risk Management Program. The Risk Analyst evaluates, manages, and mitigates risks within the Terra Power Risk Program, working closely with project and corporate teams to ensure effective risk management practices are integrated into challenging execution strategies.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Conduct thorough assessments of risk situations including operational capacity, cost, quality, and schedule analysis
  • Assist in the development and implementation of risk management strategies and protocols specific to project risk management, corporate risk management, or insurance risk
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including project managers and corporate teams, to develop comprehensive risk mitigation strategies
  • Serve as Risk representative to project teams
  • Guide project teams in documentation strategy to support the risk management process
  • Monitor subcontractor or partner information to identify risk situations and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Implement risk tools and processes to develop project risk registers
  • Facilitate risk management within project and corporate teams to ensure adherence to risk procedures
  • Perform complex analytical assessments in support of risk development, including quantitative analysis, probabilistic analysis, and Monte Carlo simulations
  • Stay current on industry trends, software products, and regulatory changes affecting project and enterprise risk management in the nuclear industry
  • Administer, manage, and develop risk tools and templates, ensuring they are user‑friendly and aligned with best practices
  • Partner with project teams, Legal, and outside consultants to evaluate responsibility of parties in claim situations
Key Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 12–15 years of experience in risk management, with a strong focus on project risk management
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience facilitating risk management sessions
  • Familiarity with risk management methodologies and tools, such as ISO 31000 and COSO
  • Demonstrated trust, integrity, and a desire to foster teamwork
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, PMI‑RMP, or CRM
  • Advanced degree in risk management, engineering, finance, or business administration
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools, e.g., Active Risk Manager
  • In‑depth knowledge of the nuclear industry, regulatory requirements, EPC agreements, and nuclear power design principles

Job Details

Salary Range: $168,316 – $252,475 (Washington State)
