Regulatory Compliance Specialist
As a Resident Project Representative I, you will be responsible for ensuring construction projects meet HDR’s high standards of quality, safety and integrity. Your work will focus on onsite supervision, documentation, and coordination with project teams.
Responsibilities- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.
- Maintain accurate daily records of the contractor’s activities, labor, equipment and materials.
- Review construction materials for contract compliance.
- Track quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptance.
- Attend and/or chair construction progress meetings.
- Conduct observations of the installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systems.
- Identify nonconforming work, develop punchlists, and follow through until issues are corrected.
- Develop record documentation for engineer review and acceptance.
- Assist with project audit and closeout.
- Work under the general supervision of a more senior Resident Project Representative or Design Project Manager.
- Supervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services, and subconsultants.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of 3 years of construction experience.
- Ability to interpret construction schedules.
- Problem‑solving skills and the ability to provide solutions to the engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
- Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
- Team‑oriented work style.
- Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera or related construction packages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to being an active participant of HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
