• Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily, from breaking stories to reported features
• Collaborate closely with editorial, audio, and social teams to ensure cohesive, timely coverage across platforms
• Identify emerging stories relevant to Black audiences and elevate them with context
• Participate in real-time coverage during breaking news moments, coordinating closely with teammates
• Apply SEO best practices to improve content discoverability while maintaining editorial integrity

• 1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation
• Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles and social media copy
• Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing skills
• Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred, but strong experience is acceptable

• A strong writer and editor with sound editorial judgment
• A genuine love of news, current events, and cultural conversations
• Experience publishing or promoting content on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and emerging networks
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Adaptability during breaking news and evolving coverage
