This job requires availability to travel to Binaytara conferences at least one weekend per month.
As a proactive and detail-oriented communications professional, you will assist our content communications production. This individual will be tasked with writing, copyediting and project management. You will help communicate Binaytara’s mission, projects, impact, and thought leadership in global oncology and medical education. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional English writing and editing skills, strong organization and time management skills, and the ability to be a team player in a collaborative environment.

- Create written communications that increase Binaytara’s brand awareness, thought leadership, and reputation as a global leader in improving access to cancer care.
- Write and copyedit various types of draft content, including The Cancer News (TCN) articles, blog articles, press releases, media pitches, and key webpages.
- Tailor content for SEO to increase organic traffic to our website.
- Coordinate and assist with various communications, including but not limited to:
- Send draft articles to the appropriate content expert for editing and review.
- Email internal and external stakeholders to request content.
- Coordinate and assist with Binaytara’s The Cancer News and International Journal of Cancer Care and Delivery (IJCCD), up to date and in compliance with policies.
- Collaborate with internal and external writer/editor contributors, providing project management of the production and review process to ensure timelines are met, and policies and procedures are followed.
- Maintain the editorial calendar to ensure a consistent content pipeline.
- Maintain high editorial standards, ensuring all content is clear, compelling, and accurate.
- Conduct interviews with healthcare practitioners at conferences or virtually, and request content from Binaytara staff (e.g., hospital staff in Nepal, the Education team in Bellevue) during the production and review process (for example, when doctors need to review health-related content).
Be available to travel to conferences at least once a month (schedule determined based on staffing needs) and provide on-site support as needed (including registration, attendee and faculty support, setup, tear down, etc.)
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Exceptional English writing and copyediting skills.
- Track record of communicating technical topics with clear and engaging content.
- Experience creating content with a lens for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Passion for being a team player.
- Commitment to Binaytara’s mission and values.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability and willingness to travel to support Binaytara conferences
- Experience writing about health-related topics.
- Experience in the nonprofit, scientific, or healthcare sectors.
