Structural BIM Design Lead
The Structural BIM Design Lead will independently manage all aspects of structural design within the Building Engineering Services Group, preparing BIM models, documentation, and deliverables that meet project specifications and standards.
Responsibilities- Work for a specific discipline without external direction from architects or other technical professionals.
- Generate and maintain discipline BIM models based on the Level of Development (LOD) outlined in the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) and project scope.
- Create and maintain discipline systems, content, and digital outputs, ensuring accurate BIM elements, model health, and compliance with company standards.
- Use the 3D software required by the Digital Delivery requirements to develop detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams within project schedule and budget constraints.
- Coordinate with other discipline models through Design Reviews and 3‑D Coordination processes; communicate and compile all project digital deliverables at predefined milestones.
- Archive project models at submittals and closeout and control model information such as coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match‑lines, views, and sheets.
- Teach and mentor Digital Design staff within the discipline; assist in recruiting and developing the Digital Design business class.
- Participate in close, effective communication and presentation with HDR management, production staff, and clients.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Structural building and infrastructure design expertise.
- Proficiency in structural 3D modeling and drawing creation using both current and previous versions of Revit.
- Foundational understanding of Civil 3D software, including linking, acquiring, and publishing shared coordinates.
- Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of related industry experience.
- Advanced skills in 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
- Advanced skills in 3D coordination tools.
- Competency with Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
- Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
- Knowledge of industry standards, practices, codes, and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational traits.
- Leadership and mentoring skills required.
