Architectural Preservation Specialist

The Architectural Preservation Specialist will be responsible for the preservation and conservation of historic buildings and structures in Washington DC This position requires a deep understanding and appreciation for architectural history as well as technical knowledge of restoration techniques The ideal candidate will have experience working with historic structures and a strong attention to detail

• Conduct thorough assessments of historic buildings and structures to determine their condition and necessary preservation measures
• Develop preservation plans and proposals including cost estimates and timelines
• Coordinate with other professionals such as engineers contractors and government agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
• Oversee restoration projects including on-site inspections monitoring progress and ensuring quality control
• Conduct research on historical architecture styles materials and techniques to inform preservation decisions
• Document all work done on historic structures for future reference
• Educate the public about the importance of preserving historic architecture through presentations tours and outreach programs

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience in architectural preservation or restoration
• In-depth knowledge of historic architecture styles materials and techniques
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in relevant software programs such as AutoCAD

This position offers a competitive salary of $1600 per month along with free visa sponsorship and travel expenses
