Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Transformative Training & Practices is part of the Office of Community Care & Institutional Transformation team. The Assistant Director of Transformative Training & Practices reports to the Director of Restorative Practices and is responsible for creating, curating, and facilitating proactive and responsive training and professional development for staff, faculty, and students, with a focus on community care and transformational practices.

The role is responsible for management and facilitation of training initiatives, as well as consultations and strategic partnerships to find and fill gaps based on emergent training needs across campus.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

Position Salary Range: $72,488/year - $101,483/year

The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hires start no higher than $79,737 per year based on Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule.

We offer comprehensive compensation package with salary and benefits as the main components. Generous benefits package is offered through Washington State plans that includes multiple medical, dental, life and disability coverage choices for employees and dependents; choices of retirement and deferred compensation plans; paid holidays, sick, and vacation plans; transit program, reduced tuition, employee discounts and memberships, etc.

The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This position may be eligible for overtime under the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Positions with salaries below the WA State Salary Threshold is eligible for overtime pay.

About the Department

The Office of Community Care & Institutional Transformation has a primary function at Bellevue College of centering the people that make up our community. We understand the root causes of harm and disrupt behaviors that sustain systems rooted in a false belief in human hierarchy through continuous learning and collaborative practices. We are responsible for advancing community care in all of our institutional strategies and practices.

Essential Functions

Management & Facilitation

* Organize and facilitate 1-3 campus wide community-responsive trainings and professional development offerings tailored to the unique needs of staff, faculty, and students each year.

* Manage logistics and recruit presenters for Equity Professional Development Day, a campus-wide professional development day centered on community-responsive education and equity issues.

* Lead administrative and programmatic support for Educational Equity (EEQ- a required course for tenure-track faculty), QTPOC Symposium (a day-long conference for staff & faculty across the Washington State College System), and other 1-day conferences or trainings with external facilitators based on emergent needs.

* Manage, develop, and monitor budgets and expenditure s for programs to ensure compliance with college policies and other administrative procedures.

Consultancy & Collaborations

* Build and leverage strategic partnerships to support community-centered training across campus.

* Conduct research on data-informed practices for transformative, community development training in higher education in partnership with regional and national professional associations.

* Collaborate with HR, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Restorative Practices team, and other campus departments to lead and/or consult on training offerings to fill gaps in community support, based on campus needs and strategic transformation.

* Partner with key campus stakeholders and other community colleges to identify training needs, topics, and content areas.
