Position Summary
The Licensed Preschool Coordinator plays a key role in supporting high‑quality early learning experiences across multiple licensed preschool sites. Working under the Licensed Preschool Area Director, this position helps ensure curriculum excellence, program consistency, and compliance with Washington State licensing regulations. The coordinator provides hands‑on support to lead teachers, assists with curriculum planning and implementation, monitors program quality, and helps maintain safe, developmentally appropriate learning environments.
In addition to supporting preschool classrooms, this role collaborates closely with stakeholders—including school district partners, internal program teams, and families—and supports K–5th–grade programs to ensure smooth transitions, aligned practices, and consistent communication across age groups.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Area Director to develop, refine, and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum plans aligned with organizational standards and Washington State Early Learning Guidelines.
- Support lead teachers in lesson planning, classroom setup, and instructional strategies.
- Model best practices in early childhood education through classroom observations, coaching, and feedback.
- Contribute to curriculum design and ensure alignment across multiple sites.
- Assist with planning and delivering professional development sessions and ongoing staff training.
- Work with K–5th–grade members as needed to support aligned practices, shared expectations, and smooth transitions for children and families.
Quality Assurance & Program Support
- Conduct regular classroom walkthroughs to assess program quality, safety, and adherence to curriculum expectations.
- Provide coaching and follow‑up support to ensure continuous improvement.
- Help maintain consistent program practices across multiple preschool sites.
- Support onboarding of new teaching staff, including orientation to curriculum, policies, and licensing expectations.
- Support Early Achievers goals and quality improvement efforts.
Licensing & Compliance
- Assist the Area Director in ensuring all preschool sites meet or exceed Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) licensing requirements.
- Help maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance files.
- Support preparation for licensing visits, quality assessments, and audits.
- Monitor health and safety practices, including ratios, supervision, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
Family & Community Engagement
- Support communication with families regarding curriculum, classroom activities, and program updates.
- Participate in family events, open houses, and community engagement activities.
- Promote a welcoming, inclusive environment for children and families.
Operational Support
- Assist with scheduling, staffing coordination, and classroom coverage when needed.
- Help maintain inventory of classroom materials and supplies.
- Support implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
- Travel regularly between preschool sites within Bellevue as part of regular duties.
