Role OverviewForest Ridge seeks a talented, passionate and engaging Middle School Mandarin Teacher to teach one section each of Mandarin 1A and Mandarin 1B. This is a .35 FTE position.
In this role you will employ proficiency‑based methods to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, while fostering empathy through cross‑cultural understanding.

- Faculty collaborate across disciplines and grade levels to integrate learning experiences.

The Middle School Mandarin Teacher will join a collaborative department of colleagues to build a creative, engaging and student‑centered learning environment. Specific responsibilities include:
- Teach two sections of middle‑school Mandarin.
- Provide support for students outside of class time (answering homework questions, extra writing help, etc.).
- Collaborate with colleagues to design curriculum, assessment and instructional practices aligned with best practices, creating innovative and equitable learning experiences.
- Attend department, team and faculty meetings as scheduled.
- Participate in the life of the school community by attending assemblies, gatherings and school events.
- Attend and respectfully participate in communal prayer and other faith services.
- Experience teaching middle‑school Mandarin courses.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Understanding of and commitment to the Goals and Criteria of a Sacred Heart education.
- Commitment to working in a girl‑centric environment that supports the development of competent, confident and courageous women.
- Prior experience working with a diverse population of students and colleagues.
- Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy, including understanding of one’s own lens and the perspectives of others.
- Commitment to teaching the whole child.
- Ability to work and communicate well with faculty, staff, students and parents.
Salary range(s) based on education and experience. Part‑Time: $20,659.80 – $39,385.85.
