WHO WE ARE

Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart provides a diverse and rigorous college preparatory environment that inspires young women to become confident, compassionate leaders. As a member of a global network of more than 150 schools, we educate to the core of our 200‑year tradition through the Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria: a personal and active faith in God, a deep respect for intellectual values, a social awareness that impels one to action, the building of community as a Christian value, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom.

Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart educates young women to think critically, embrace challenges, model resilience, confront injustice, seek equality and lead globally in the pioneering spirit of our foundress. Our graduates change the world.

THE ROLE

Forest Ridge seeks a talented, passionate and engaging Upper School French Teacher to serve all levels of Upper School French (1‑5) and serve as a grade level advisor.

The primary aim of the International Language Program is to present world languages as essential living tools for communication, given the global community in which we live. Employing proficiency‑based methods, students develop the ability to use other languages in realistic situations while developing the skill areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The knowledge, insight and appreciation they gain for other cultures allows students to develop empathy by broadening their understanding of how others live, think and interact in ways different to their own.

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about teaching adolescent girls, who works well both independently and with a team, and who employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students. In addition, we are looking for faculty who are excited by the opportunity to build an integrated curriculum, working alongside members of various departments to build lessons, units and courses of study that unite concepts, topics, themes and skills often taught isolated from one another.

Furthermore, Forest Ridge seeks faculty and staff whose philosophies align with our Sacred Heart mission and who enthusiastically believe in educating the mind, body and spirit of each student.

TEACHING AT FOREST RIDGE
  • Forest Ridge offers an intellectually invigorating, interconnected and experiential curriculum.
  • The entire Forest Ridge experience is designed to support the growth of girls, particularly in the academic and leadership spaces more traditionally held by boys.
  • The curriculum at Forest Ridge has been developed and updated by the faculty who teach it.
  • Forest Ridge teachers work collaboratively across disciplines and grade levels to integrate learning experiences for students.
  • The Sacred Heart Goals and Criteria guide faculty and staff in their interactions with families and colleagues.
