Reporting to the Director of Housing, the Residence Life Coordinator plays an integral role in the educational value added in on-campus living, including planning and coordinating student activities, fostering community development and accountability, supporting the Director of Housing and Director of Student Care and Community Standards with behavior intervention and the adjudication of student disciplinary cases, and providing ongoing resource referrals and academic support initiatives for students.
The position will have authority to recruit, hire, schedule, supervise, develop, and evaluate the work of eight (8) student Resident Assistants (RAs). Additionally, the position will have limited budgetary oversight for discretionary spending on student activities, will serve in an on-call duty rotation, respond to crises and emergencies as needed, and may support other business and operations tasks within the Housing department and the Student Life and Leadership unit of Student Affairs.
Further, the position will support the Housing operational plan, the Student Affairs operational plan, and the larger Bellevue College institutional strategic plan. The Residence Life Coordinator is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
This position requires the incumbent to reside in a Residence Hall as a condition of employment.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Position Salary Range: $59,795/year - $83,713/year
The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hires start no higher than $65,775/year based on Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule.

The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This position may be eligible for overtime under the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Positions with salaries below the WA State Salary Threshold is eligible for overtime pay.

About the Department
Bellevue College Housing serves residents that live in suite and apartment style housing. The department consists of multiple full-time staff members, paraprofessional staff and hourly staff. The campus residence hall is open year-round and also supports conference and short-term guest housing. As part of the Student Affairs division, Housing is focused on centering student needs in its operational protocols and fostering a community focused on assisting students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
Essential Functions
Student Development
* Build positive relationships with residents and regularly provide both support and resources to residents as needed.
* Encourage students to develop, articulate, and reflect upon their personal identities and values, the impact of their behaviors on others, and their role as a member of a diverse, active, educational community.
* Oversee the Residential Curriculum, Housing's residential education model, within the Residence Hall.
* Analyze, design, develop, implement, and assess learning outcomes in the Residence Hall, as outlined in the Residential Curriculum, with particular emphases on resident academic success, personal development, and conflict management skills.
* Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of policies in the Residence Hall with a focus on equity, developmental education, restorative justice, and community well-being.
