Position Overview
Central Kitsap School District is seeking equity-focused leaders who inspire staff to create hope and resiliency for our students and staff. As an educational leader in CK, you will have the responsibility to make a profound and lasting, positive impact on the lives of our students and staff.
Essential Functions- Actively promote and support the District’s vision, mission, and initiatives at the District and site level.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and sustaining a vision for a school culture focused on continuous student and staff learning leading to increased student achievement.
- Promote cultural understanding and competency and a climate of equity and inclusion.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of program improvement plans focused on student achievement while effectively addressing and reducing achievement gaps using relevant data and research‑based practices.
- Assist to direct, supervise, facilitate, and evaluate the instructional, guidance, and other programs of the building; assist instructional staff in aligning and implementing curriculum, instruction, and assessment with state and local learning goals.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and effective management of the learning environment in a manner that supports and addresses the District and building vision, mission, policies, and procedures; establish a school climate characterized by courtesy, dignity, respect, and collaboration.
- Select, provide professional learning, supervise, support, and evaluate staff.
- Collaborate with and actively involve families and community members; respond to diverse community interests and needs and utilize community resources.
- Promote collaboration and teamwork with peers and staff; promote shared decision making.
- Effectively manage human and fiscal resources to accomplish achievement goals.
- Assist in facilitating the development, review, and implementation of a school behavior plan; including restorative practice and MTSS.
- Actively participate in District leadership meetings and in‑service programs; maintain and update knowledge and skills necessary for success in the position by participating in professional development activities as needed or as assigned.
- Communicate with parents, staff, and community concerning the school programs, systems rules, and procedures, including student management issues and discipline.
- Nurture a positive school environment that celebrates, respects, and values diversity, where teaching and learning are made relevant and meaningful to students of various cultures.
- Facilitate problem solving when conflicts arise between students, parents, and school staff.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people in a multicultural and diverse socio‑economic setting.
- Establish respectful and effective lines of communication amongst all stakeholders.
Education and Experience: Master’s degree in education or related field; academic preparation for or experience in leading a culturally, racially and economically diverse student population. Demonstrated successful certificated teaching experience; implementing programs designed to prevent the dropout of at‑risk students; and, teaching multi‑level, open‑concept, and main streamed classes.
Certificates & Licenses: Valid Washington state administrator certificate; some positions may require valid first aid and CPR certification; some positions may require a valid Washington state driver's license and/or a Class II driver's license.
Clearances: Criminal justice fingerprint and background check.
