Student Involvement Specialist
Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement as part of the Student Engagement team, the Student Involvement Specialist administers, oversees, and directs all program activities for student organizations and is the co‑supervisor of the Campus Activities Board (CAB). The Student Involvement Specialist performs a wide range of complex duties and responsibilities in the management of student activities; exercises independent judgement; creates and manages processes and protocols for student organizations to promote learning, student engagement, community building, socially responsible leadership and diversity.
The Student Involvement Specialist is also responsible for managing risk for student organization activities, advising, administering, and training student organizations and their advisors; and developing policies and procedures that support student organizations and the student leadership experience. Additionally, this position will play an integral role on the Student Engagement team, supporting and planning events, and promoting the departmental vision and mission while developing and contributing the departmental goals.
The schedule for this position requires evening and weekend hours throughout the year due to the nature and timing of student‑led events and activities. The position is expected to work primarily on‑campus to meet student and operational needs but there is some flexibility to work some remote days as approved by supervisor.
Position Salary Range: $59,724/year - $80,436/year

The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This is a Classified, overtime eligible position and represented by the Washington Public Employee Association of Higher Education (WPEA-HE).
AdministrationDevelop and implement student organization training materials and workshops for student leaders, involved students and student organization advisors throughout the academic year.
Oversee Student Engagement efforts to follow best practices with regard to Chartered Student Organizations and policies that outline the chartering and management of student organizations.
Prepare budget requests, provide advice and information related to financial status and problem areas to higher‑level administrative staff; create yearly CAB and other student engagement budgets for submission to the Service and Activities (S&A) Committee.
Consult regularly with Budget Manager to confirm balances of Chartered Student Orgs and Campus Activity Board budgets to assist student workers and club officers in learning quarterly budget management and expense tracking.
Review submitted Chartered Student Organization Project Proposals and follow up quickly on additional needs and/or project approvals.
Set and monitor requirements for student organizations, and keep records of organizations’ constitutions, chartering and events to ensure compliance and continuity.
Create, review, communicate and enforce student organization protocols and guidelines.
Support students in process of submitting Charters and review each charter for proper completion before determining if it is eligible to be progressed to Associated Student Government for review.
Ensure student organization information (officers, advisors, training completion rates, activities, fundraising, etc.) is tracked, accurate and up to date.
Oversee and work with professional staff and Director of Student Engagement, ensure student organization online forms, web pages, training tools, and flyers/posters are up to date and utilized.
