Molecular Biosciences (MBS) Part-Time Faculty

The Molecular Biosciences program seeks a dedicated and motivated individual to teach several 300- and 400-level courses within our curriculum. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence, as well experiences with laboratory research. The selected candidate will perform duties and functions with the support of the program chair of Molecular Biosciences and will be directly responsible to the Science Division Dean.

Adjunct Professor is typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment. Quarterly remuneration for 5-credit lecture class is $6,418.75 - $7,824.66. Compensation is prorated based on type and duration of assignments. Individuals newly hired to Adjunct Professor group at the college are placed at the minimum rate per union bargaining agreement.

Certain positions may also be eligible for assignment/project-based additional compensation, including a High Demand Stipend up to $8,350 annually, prorated based on the discipline and duration of the assignment. All additional compensations are subject to change depending on funding and negotiated agreement.

In addition to teaching, faculty maintains office hours and may participate in department and college activities. This position is represented by the Bellevue College Association of Higher Education (BCAHE) union.

The Molecular Biosciences Program offers a Molecular Sciences Technician degree (AAS-T), a four-year bachelor
¿ s of applied sciences (BAS) in Molecular Biosciences, as well as a one year Biomedical Research Certificate. This program prepares students to pursue a career in biomedical research, medicine, pharmacy, forensics or even food science.

Instructors are responsible for the preparation and implementation of courses in in-person and hybrid modalities. Courses are offered weekdays.
