Qualifications and Skills Desired:
- Current Washington State Special Education Teacher certification (WA SPED)
- Proven experience or strong interest in providing specialized instruction to elementary-aged students (K–4th)
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn designated IEP systems (with training provided)
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect special education services to elementary students within the ACCESS program
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans and adapt teaching strategies to meet individualized student needs
- Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and participate actively in the IEP process
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Participate in team meetings, contribute to interdisciplinary discussions, and maintain necessary records
- Travel between assigned school sites and ensure continuity of support
