Position Summary:
The nature of the work is professional, and requires an ability to work in accordance of college rules, policies, and regulations, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. The position performs complex duties. The Program Specialist 3/Student Success Specialist coordinates programs and services, providing assistance and individualized case management to TRIO students. This position works with Bellevue College faculty and staff, and college representatives.
The position recommends resolution for complex problems and issues related to the student
¿ s individualized needs. Incumbents assess TRIO participants
¿ needs and develop specialized services and training unique to the Department and are responsive to the needs of TRIO students. The use of professional judgement based on the assessment of student needs and individual circumstances is required for this position. Position is contingent upon grant funding.
This is a part-time temporary project position (20 hours per workweek), and expected to end on 08/31/2027. Extension of the position pending on grant funding availability.

Work Schedule:
Position Salary Range: $31,374/year - $42,268/year. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Individuals newly hired to Classified position are placed in a salary range based on the WPEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. We offer comprehensive compensation package with salary and benefits as the main components. Competitive salary is within the Range stated above, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

About the Department: TRIO - Student Support Services furthers the mission of Bellevue College by providing individualized support services to students with limited income and first-generation college students to assist them with their academic success. These services include but are not limited to academic advising, personal guidance and support, transfer planning, assistance with financial aid processes, study skills development, and tutoring.
Essential Functions:
Academic Advising and Case Management for TRIO students
- Perform intake for new TRIO students. Determine student eligibility for TRIO program.
- Assess individual academic, financial, and personal needs and develop College Success Plans for all students on caseload.
- Complete Educational Plans for each student on caseload.
- Conduct individual advising sessions and group advising workshops, inform students of degree requirements, assess and evaluate academic progress..
- Develop transfer plans, conduct transfer advising and assist with the transfer application process.
- Provide individualized guidance and support with on-campus and external resource referral as needed.
- Conduct academic intervention. Work with faculty, student and early alert team on a college success plan.
- Develop educational and behavioral intervention plans as indicated.
- Maintain ongoing communication with students via weekly emails and one on one monthly meetings. Monitor and track participation in department activities.
- Properly document and record all student contact information in the Student Access Database.
