This is an Ameri Corps/Washington Service Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. Olympia Regional Learning Academy (ORLA) is located in Olympia, Washington. We house multiple unique programs in one building. We are committed to removing barriers to student success. We embraced diversity in all aspects of our school community. The member will serve with our Montessori elementary, homeschool, and alternative middle school programs.

They will collaborate with teachers to support student literacy through tutoring and events. This position is a great opportunity to learn about literacy and gain professional experience in education. If you have a positive and caring attitude and a strong work ethic We expect to begin rolling review of applications and interviews in late August. Monthly stipend amount: $2,380.

• The Literacy Tutor will support ORLA’s efforts to improve literacy skills they will serve in the multiple programs housed within our building and work with a wide age range of students.
• They will provide literacy tutoring to individual and small groups of students
• collaborate with educators to identify students by need and may provide support in classroom settings
• plan and present family and community engagement events and projects
• track, analyze, and submit student learning data.
