On Call Guest Teacher

Substitute teaching role for all classrooms filled on an as needed basis.

Position Type: On-Call / Substitute

Reports To: Program Head / School Administrator

Location: Eastside Academy – Bellevue, WA

The Paid On-Call Substitute Teacher provides classroom coverage when a regular teacher is absent. The substitute helps maintain a safe, supportive, and productive learning environment by following the teacher’s plans, supervising students, and supporting normal classroom routines.

• Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular teacher.
• Supervise students and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.
• Take attendance and follow school procedures.
• Provide basic assistance to students with assigned work.
• Maintain classroom expectations and school behavior standards.
• Communicate significant student concerns or incidents to the appropriate staff member.
• Follow school policies related to safety, technology, confidentiality, and student supervision.
• Leave notes for the regular teacher regarding completed work, student participation, and any concerns.
• Perform other reasonable duties related to substitute coverage as assigned.

• College coursework or a degree required, degree in education or a related field is preferred.
• Active teaching certificate preferred.
• Experience working with high school students preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and student confidentiality.
• Commitment to supporting a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment.

This is a paid, on-call position
. Substitute teachers are contacted as coverage needs arise and may accept or decline individual assignments based on availability.

Hourly: $27.00-$32.00

The position requires the ability to move throughout the school, supervise students, and perform normal classroom duties.
