EHS Real Estate Due Diligence & Remediation Project Manager

As a Workplace Health & Safety Real Estate Due Diligence & Remediation Project Manager, you will support the team in partnering with stakeholders worldwide to support real estate transactions. You will perform transaction‑related due diligence, scope and manage remediation projects, support the development of Amazon standards and policy, and implement the program requirements. In this role, you will assist in managing these programs at the corporate level and ensure that risks and liabilities are appropriately evaluated and mitigated.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Manager in providing a single point of contact to transaction teams for their understanding and execution of Amazon’s due diligence program.
  • Complete reviews of due diligence‑related information including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, historical reports, regulatory agency assessments, health‑risk assessments and vapor mitigation plans.
  • Team on evaluating and investigating potential exposure risks from building materials or property conditions including but not limited to asbestos‑containing materials, lead‑based paint, and vapor intrusion.
  • Scope and manage Phase Ⅱ site investigations.
  • Perform Vapor Intrusion Screenings and Health Risk Assessments with support from subject matter experts.
  • Draft mitigation plans for construction management of contaminated soil and groundwater as required during renovation activities.
  • Liaise with Real Estate, Legal, Construction and Launch teams about required mitigation and ongoing oversight and management so that business may use challenging sites.
  • Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with property owners, consultants, and legal advisors to maintain and develop professional relationships.
  • Prioritize and advance multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent.
  • Experience in commercial transactions.
  • Experience developing and implementing standards, policies and programs or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of due diligence & remediation experience or risk management or contamination management.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge and experience of ASTM Phase I standards and other environmental protocols; understand core business and legal concepts of business transactions.

  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with leadership, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience collaborating and influencing multiple teams across organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Additional language fluency is a bonus.

Compensation for this position ranges from $66,800/year to $142,800/year, depending on market location and experience. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Eligible positions may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total package, in addition to medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
