Overview
Job | Services LLC. Last Mile Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering project leader to lead an initiative of developing and delivering next generation, world-class Last Mile transportation systems. This role involves designing the next generation of delivery stations and logistics systems across the globe, with a high level of ownership in solving complex problems, and leveraging cutting-edge automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and robotics.
This is a highly visible, cross-functional role requiring effective collaboration and communication with multiple teams and global stakeholders.
This role requires strong verbal and written communication on status, risks, and our sourcing pipeline, the ability to influence senior leaders, and a comfort with ambiguity while merging strong technical depth with business and project management capabilities.
Key responsibilities- Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the delivery station network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Track existing metrics and set up new metrics as required to validate vendor and team performance.
- Report on performance in weekly and monthly forums with partner teams and senior leadership.
- Set measurable targets that align with the overall goals of the organization.
- Comprehend the technical requirements of internal customers and become an expert in the field.
- Influence: identify opportunities and influence organizations to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion.
- Oversee partner teams with good judgment, making decisions based on data.
- Deliver end-to-end technology and vendor operations projects, navigating obstacles to complete initiatives.
- Present to senior leadership, communicate expectations and requirements with business and technology teams, and write data-oriented proposals; perform data examinations as necessary.
- Utilize exceptional problem-solving skills to work through difficult tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent
- 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development experience
- Experience with design & innovation and research & development
- Experience in management of engineering design projects
- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
- Master’s degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
- Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience with design-in-safety

Compensation & BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
