Overview
Description Amazon Web Services’ Network Products Development team is looking for experienced hardware engineering professionals to help build our next generation networking platforms. The right candidate will play a key role in the design and development of our next generation Ethernet switching platforms for our world class datacenters. Strong experience in modular chassis based enterprise/carrier products is a must.
Responsibilities- Lead architecture definition, specification, key component selection, detailed design, and transition to manufacturing for high-speed networking hardware, working closely with PCB designers and cross-functional teams.
- Design and develop Ethernet switching platforms for AWS datacenters, including modular chassis based products; apply experience with terabit switch fabrics, 10/40/100 gigabit interfaces, embedded CPU sub-systems, and network processors.
- Perform simulation, timing analysis, thermal analysis, and EMC to meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with Asian ODM/JDM partners in development and manufacturing to deliver production-ready hardware.
- Lead hardware development efforts with a focus on high-speed digital design and ensuring successful transition to manufacturing.
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
- BSEE with 10+ years of hardware board and systems development (must have taken products from concept to mass production) and 5+ years of experience with Ethernet switching fabrics, Ethernet PHY and Ser Des interfaces, embedded CPU sub-systems, DDR2/DDR3/DDR4 memory design, network processors, I2C, USB.
- Experience with high-speed PCB design and 5+ years of experience in CPLD/FPGA design using VHDL or Verilog.
- Experience troubleshooting with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and specialized test equipment such as PCI analyzers and in-circuit-emulators.
- Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams (mechanical, HW, SI, diagnostic, manufacturing) and with outside vendors and developers.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Experience with project management of technical projects.
- Experience defining and implementing modular chassis functions such as system redundancy, hot-swap, power distribution, environmental control and system management.
- CPLD/FPGA experience in advanced hardware control/monitoring/logging.
- Experience specifying mechanical enclosures.
- Experience in analog design, signal integrity analysis, DC-DC switcher design, EDVT, and MDVT is beneficial.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
