Electrical Engineering
At Jacobs, we’re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world’s most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission‑critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting‑edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your ImpactJacobs’ Energy and Power Solutions team is searching for a driven Entry‑Level Electrical Engineer who is excited about starting their career focused on the energy and power market. Join our Substations team and work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide. As global demand for reliable, resilient and sustainable energy grows, our teams tackle complex challenges in modern power systems, from designing high‑voltage substations to integrating renewable energy and improving grid reliability.
Under the guidance of professional engineers and senior technical staff, you will provide solutions to pressing client challenges, support the design and delivery of high‑voltage transmission and distribution substation projects, and contribute to the technical quality of assigned engineering tasks while gaining familiarity with client expectations, project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
Some tasks you can expect to work on include condition assessment of existing systems, feasibility and master plan studies, detailed design and construction oversight for power generation facilities, distribution systems and substations. You will contribute to real substation, transmission and energy transition projects, increasing your modeling skills by evaluating load flow, short‑circuit and arc‑flash hazards, developing relay protection strategies, and performing lightning protection systems and grounding design.
Whether supporting concept studies, electrical design, power system modelling, equipment specifications or interdisciplinary coordination, your work will have real‑world impact.
