Senior Component Design Engineer; RPA

Job Title:

Senior Component Design Engineer (RPA) – Contract

• Design solutions for reactor structures and components, including the rotatable plug assembly equipment, from requirements through final design.

• Coordinate inputs and requirements from Engineering and Project teams to develop equipment and component design solutions.

• Perform scoping analysis and calculations for various design options.

• Interface with engineering analysis activities and present design results for reviews.

• Assess the technical merit of solutions and lead design reviews.

• Collaborate with equipment suppliers to resolve design and fabrication issues.

• Apply nuclear industry best practices to maintain high‑quality engineering design and suggest process improvements.

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (minimum of eight years of equipment/component design experience; a relevant M.S. degree counts as two years of experience).

• Extensive experience with equipment and component design, including familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III.

• Experience writing detailed design specifications.

• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

• Proficiency in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis, and tools such as ANSYS.

• Excellent writing and communication skills.

• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and creative thinking abilities.

• Ability to independently solve challenging problems and work on multiple tasks concurrently.

• Familiarity with CAD software;
  Solid Works preferred.

• High level of trust, integrity, and teamwork orientation.

• Preferred skills include experience with slewing ring bearings and elastomeric seals.
