Amazon is seeking a Senior Systems Development Engineer to support the Amazon Logistics WW Central Engineering team. This individual will challenge current processes, equipment, procedures, and electrical/controls specifications in our delivery stations, in order to come up with creative and implementable process improvement initiatives with a focus on AB PLC/HMI and vision systems development. This Senior Systems Development Engineer will contribute to all aspects of an agile systems development life cycle including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing, and operations.
This position will be responsible for designing, managing, and executing the next generation of delivery station processes, equipment, and operations. This is a unique opportunity to own new innovative projects that will advance the intelligence of our last mile business.
Senior Controls Engineer responsible for designing and developing industrial control systems and PLC programs for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) across Amazon Logistics North America.
Core Technical Responsibilities:Must demonstrate deep technical knowledge and ability to influence cross-functional teams while maintaining effective communication with internal and external partners.
A day in the lifeYour work is very hands-on and multi-disciplinary. You will be working closely with vendors, cross-functional engineers, and project teams. You lead design reviews, write and troubleshoot PLC code and IPC based code such as CODESYS, documents, demonstrate proof-of-concepts, build prototypes, and manage stakeholder expectations.
