We're excited to invite a motivated Junior Surveyor to join our dynamic team, contributing to a wide variety of infrastructure projects. This hybrid role allows you to balance fieldwork and office responsibilities while working from your hometown in the Pacific Northwest.

As part of the field team, you'll collect survey data using GNSS and Robotic Total Station equipment, all under the mentorship of a Project Surveyor or Project Manager. You may also have opportunities to travel to various project sites across the Pacific Northwest.

In the office, you'll play a vital role by processing and analyzing survey data with a range of software platforms, providing essential information to support infrastructure development. Your contributions will ensure precision and quality throughout every project phase.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting control, boundary, topography, and laser scanning tasks in a one or two-person crew.
  • Collection of survey data utilizing GNSS receivers, scanners, total stations, levels, and survey controllers.
  • Producing clear and precise field notes, alongside quality data for post-processing.
  • Communicating technical and project status updates with the project manager and/or project surveyor.
  • Working outdoors in diverse weather conditions and varying terrains.
  • Handling office tasks such as downloading and processing field data, performing network/traverse adjustments, executing boundary/control calculations, and feature code processing in CAD.
  • Collaborating effectively with a multi-disciplined team.
  • Adhering to company policies and safety protocols.
  • Representing Jacobs in the field with a professional demeanor.
  • Undertaking additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience as an Instrument Operator, Party Chief, or Survey Technician.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong social and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to pass drug screenings and background checks.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with Trimble equipment and software.
  • Experience in DOT and Municipal Infrastructure surveys.
  • CST, LSI, or PLS certification.
