Job Description

Amazon Robotics is building a new foundational automation system which will transform warehouse operations by enabling the integration of multiple complex automation solutions. The team is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to design and optimize electrical subsystems for robotics systems and industrial automation equipment.

• Review modify and approve electrical schematics and engineering calculations
• Coordinate and lead cross-functional efforts to engineer design and optimize both new and existing electrical control systems.
• Integration of electrical system engineering and design into Agile processes
• Review electrical designs for safety compliance to required machine safety standards and codes including but not limited to NFPA
  70E NFPA
  79 IEC 60947 IEC 61010 IEC 61810 IEC 60204 and/or IEC 62061
• Apply IEC industrial standards for the development lifecycle of an electrical control system
• Partner with internal and external teams to identify test and implement opportunities for system cost savings
• Identify design and implement opportunities to improve deployability and maintainability of electrical subsystems

• BS / MS Electrical Engineering or similar field
• 5 years of engineering experience with electrical control systems for industrial automation
• 3 years of engineering experience with motion control servos drives and electronic power conversion equipment.
• Experience designing or integrating autonomous equipment like AGVs or mobile robots.
• Demonstrated experience with IEC standards for electrical controls for robotics and machinery IEC 62061 ISO 13849 ISO 10218/ANSI RIA 15.06 or similar experience in other industries IEC 62304 ISO 26262 etc.
• Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards IEC 62061 ISO 13849 or IEC 61508
• Experience working with teams to meet project deadlines.
• Experience developing functional specifications and products to meet the business and end user needs
• Ability to resolve complex issues in creative efficient and effective ways
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
