The individual will own the capacity models for First Mile and Middle Mile and will help improve and automate the model refreshes going into organizational quarterly guidance and planning cycles.
Additionally, the role requires driving concept designs that enhance our customer and associate experience by introducing new capabilities and re-engineering processes while increasing the overall safety and efficiency of our operations.
We are looking for someone who possesses a blend of customer-facing and technical skills and will own retrofit programs and projects from ideation through execution and validation. Successful candidates will possess a strong background in facility design, material handling equipment, automation, and process engineering with a blend of deep skills in program managing complex projects, strong technical aptitude, troubleshooting capabilities, and customer-facing skills, along with a passion for innovating and simplifying processes.
You are able to work successfully across multiple large engineering and operations teams at a strategic level and at an operations integration level.
Key job responsibilities

- Own the capacity models for FM and MM BUs
- Determine all resources required for each retrofit project in terms of site layout, traffic plans, optimal material flow, equipment specification, and operations scheduling/ops clock
- Consolidate all retrofit efforts from change management to post-launch support for each site to streamline launch work, minimize disruption, and reduce launch costs
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high quality, cost effective solutions in very short periods of time
- Simultaneously manage multiple high visibility projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors
- Cross-pollinate best practices between engineering and operations teams.
- Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects
- Lead ergonomic design improvements leveraging ergonomics, safety, and field ACES team resources
- With each retrofit, drive standardization, documentation of core design and process elements for scalable network growth across North America Logistics using strong process management and Lean principles
- Own and deliver on post-launch reviews and customer feedback, and incorporate feedback into future project plans
A day in the life
The role will require daily interactions with Operations, Safety, Process/Design Engineering, Launch, Finance, Supply Chain Execution, and Planning teams to ensure delivery station and sort center retrofit programs are well-defined in terms of aligning on the launch calendar, determining capacity requirements, identifying resources, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and leading the change management process. The role needs to have a deep understanding on both business needs and operational standards to be able translate business inputs to operational designs and operational constraints into business plans.
There will be daily/weekly calls with Design and Launch teams to review retrofit designs and to collaborate with business/program owners to ensure the success of strategic initiatives implemented on time at the highest quality.
