Responsibilities

+ Develop 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for mechanical and structural systems supporting advanced nuclear reactor projects.

+ Create and review test fixtures, rigs, flow loops, and sub-scale test articles for testing and analysis.

+ Perform tolerance stack-ups, ensure designs meet ASME standards, and conduct trade studies to identify optimal solutions.

+ Support structural, thermal, neutronic, radiological, and safety analyses through model configurations.

+ Maintain configuration control of models and drawings using PDM/PLM systems.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, review design documents, and prepare technical presentations and reports.

+ Create engineering drawings in compliance with ASME standards and check drawings for accuracy and conformance.

Requirements

+ B.S. degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.

+ Proficiency in Solid Works with a minimum of 7 years CAD experience.

+

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.

+ Experience creating and reviewing fabrication drawings and in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work multiple tasks independently.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Experience working with PDM/PLM systems preferred.

+ Knowledge of nuclear industry standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001 highly desirable.

+ Experience overseeing suppliers and subcontractors in an engineering environment.

+ Previous work with nuclear equipment, reactor components, or similar highly regulated environments preferred.
