The successful candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in nuclear power plant design or operation that includes experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Plant or systems engineering.
- Design engineering.
- Licensing or regulatory affairs.
- Safety analysis.
- PRA.
- Operations.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of a BS degree in a relevant engineering discipline like nuclear, chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering or a Senior Reactor Operators license or equivalent.
The successful candidate should demonstrate initiative and the ability to work with little supervision.
The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of NRC regulations and associated guidance and a proven ability to develop successful regulatory strategies. Prior interaction with the NRC staff is desirable.
The successful candidate will display leadership skills by proactively driving cross functional design, licensing, safety analysis, and PRA collaboration and integration.
The candidate must be team oriented, and able to work effectively with geographically distributed and possibly international design team members.
The candidate should have broad based technical and engineering skills and experience leading an integrated cross functional design team.
The candidate should demonstrate the ability to acquire new knowledge and apply it in a rapid-fire environment.
The candidate should demonstrate the ability to organize information to convey it to other disciplines and organizations.
The candidate should demonstrate the ability to be innovative.
The successful candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey critical design integration information to the management team, the engineering and licensing team, customers etc.
The candidate should be able to work in a conceptual design and first of a kind environment that requires the ability to use good engineering judgement and identify deliverables and processes to achieve key project objectives.
