Responsibilities

+ Design solutions for reactor structures and components, including the rotatable plug assembly equipment, from requirements through final design

+ Coordinate inputs and requirements from Engineering and Project teams to develop equipment and component design solutions

+ Perform scoping analysis and calculations for various design options

+ Interface with engineering analysis activities and present design results for reviews

+ Assess the technical merit of solutions and lead design reviews

+ Collaborate with equipment suppliers to resolve design and fabrication issues

+ Apply nuclear industry best practices to maintain high-quality engineering design and suggest process improvements

Requirements

+ B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (minimum of eight years of equipment/component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience)

+ Extensive experience with equipment and component design, including familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III

+ Experience writing detailed design specifications

+ Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)

+ Proficiency in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis, and tools like ANSYS

+ Excellent writing and communication skills

+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking abilities

+ Ability to independently solve challenging problems and work on multiple tasks concurrently

+ Familiarity with CAD software, Solid Works preferred

+ High level of trust, integrity, and teamwork orientation

+ Preferred skills include experience with slewing ring bearings and elastomeric seals
