The Hardware Quality Engineering Manager (QEM) will help shape and create the next generation of consumer technology.
The QEM is accountable for ensuring our products are built for quality from concept through launch.
- Develop a risk assessment at the concept stage using the NUD (New, Unique, Different) process, incorporating lessons learned from previous products.
- Establish quality goals, monitor performance and investigate failures through root‑cause analysis to implement closed‑loop corrective actions.
- Lead quality lessons learned sessions and institute remedies to prevent recurrence.
- Support NPI builds onsite, drive build issues to closure with RCCA/8D.
- Influence engineering teams to improve design, focusing on robust RF & antenna solutions for beam forming, beam pointing and steering.
- Drive continuous improvement across all phases, manage ambiguity, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Guide cross‑functional teams in design‑for‑quality initiatives and standards.
- Communicate recommended solutions to product teams and executives, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Ascertain quality milestones during NPI phases and create consensus around standards.
- Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally for onsite factory support.
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted to the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications- Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, Management, or Technology.
- Program and project management experience in a matrixed organization.
- 5+ years of quality assurance engineering experience, or equivalent education.
- Management of multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- 2+ years of practice with statistical tools and strong quality program management skills.
- Familiarity with NPI cycles and the consumer electronics product development process.
- Understanding of electronic assembly processes in consumer electronics.
- Data‑analysis and forensic skills using DMAIC and other systematic approaches.
- Lean/Six Sigma experience: FMEA, DOE, MSA, ANOVA, hypothesis testing, VSM, Pareto charts, Gage R&R, Cpk.
- Knowledge of process audits and continuous improvement planning in factory operations.
- Ability to travel within China and South Asia, including Vietnam.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- 2+ years of antenna design experience for 3G/4G, Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth.
- Experience with Data & AI technologies, including AI/ML, GenAI, analytics, databases or storage.
- Master’s degree in MSME/MSIE/MSEE/MSCE.
- System and commodity‑level technology understanding, including device software and usability.
- Design experience in Mechanical, EE Parts, RF/Wireless, ICs, SOCs.
- Proficiency in Mandarin or Vietnamese is beneficial but not essential.
