Senior Environmental Permitting & Compliance Specialist
TRC is seeking a Senior Environmental Permitting & Compliance Specialist for our growing Environmental, Health and Safety team in Bellevue, WA.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual and results-oriented leader who works with stakeholders to understand project needs and manages teams to deliver services to meet those requirements. The Senior Environmental Permitting & Compliance Specialist is responsible for networking with clients to identify and define projects, developing and negotiating proposals, building teams of technical staff and sub-consultants to execute work, maintaining quality and risk management processes to keep work on track, and delivering according to scope, schedule, and budget.
Responsibilities- Environmental compliance assurance, program and procedure development, training, and project management.
- Support development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems, compliance assessments and audits to ensure effective risk control and regulatory compliance.
- Perform and manage environmental compliance duties including, but not limited to: air quality permitting and compliance, SPCC planning, NPDES/storm water permitting and reporting, EPCRA Tier II and TRI reporting, wastewater permitting and compliance, and hazardous waste compliance management, including characterization, handling, storage, transportation and disposal activities.
- Provide compliance and regulatory support for multiple clients and facilities.
- Interface with regulatory agencies for permit development and compliance.
- Strong technical writing and data management, organizational and communication skills.
- Prepare client deliverables.
- Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
- Experience to manage, and monitor project budgets, scopes, project deliverable quality, and schedules; demonstrate the ability to lead and manage compliance projects.
- Experience in writing proposals and setting budget to clients.
- Client relationship management and growth.
- Work with client account managers and account teams to meet client expectations and increase services provided to the client.
- Maintain a billable utilization target.
- Apply quality assurance and quality control procedures.
