Your impactAs a Senior Geotechnical Engineer
, you will lead geotechnical tasks and lead the delivery for a wide variety of projects, with a focus on medium‑to‑large civil infrastructure projects primarily in the water and transportation markets. This position is based in Bellevue, WA.
Your responsibilities will include mentoring less experienced staff, leading projects in the development and implementation of geotechnical data collection programs, geotechnical analyses, preparation of reports, development of contract documents, and providing support during project construction. Each day you will follow projects from concept development through the construction phase with our engineers.
Technical skills required- Exploration methods, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, and laboratory testing for soil and rock
- Experience with design, construction, and inspection of dam and levee projects
- Design of typical geotechnical structures, such as shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and ground improvement
- Understanding of earthquake hazard evaluations, including liquefaction assessments, site‑specific ground response analyses, and development of design spectra
- Preparation of technical reports
- Familiarity with computer programs for geotechnical analyses, such as SETTLE3D, LPILE, SLIDE or SLOPE, MATHCAD, FB‑Multipier, PLAXIS, and FLAC
- Preparation of design drawings and specifications
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering
- M.S./Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering
- 15 years of geotechnical consulting experience with a focus on heavy infrastructure projects
- PE license
- 10 or more years of geotechnical design experience in the dams market preferred
