Senior RF Engineer
The Senior Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer is responsible for overseeing the analysis, design, implementation and enhancement of wireless telecommunications networks. These include existing and planned networks for cellular and digital mobile phone anddata transmission networks. The Senior RF Engineer position requires working knowledge in cellular systems, mobile radio propagation environment, widely used prediction models and measurement techniques.
Responsibilities include RF site approvals, linking budgets, systemdimensioning for coverage and capacity including traffic analysis,initial system design and dimensioning, RF coverage planning, frequency planning and interference analysis.
- Perform RF drive testing to carry out propagation and signal measurement.
- Perform analysis of measured data, in order to modify network design and enhance performance. Ensurethe deployment of an optimum system, making sure that service coverage is in line with the objective and the strategy adopted by the service provider.
- Devise test plans, test site scheduling, equipment calibration and setup, RF signal measurement anddata analysis.
- Research and identify thelatest techniques in RF engineering and cellular industry, with a focuson special features and methods to improve coverage, quality and capacity.
- Identify RF equipment location at sites, site RFaudits, build verification and system RF acceptance.
- Provide training on wireless technologies and applications.

Hardware and Software tools. - Oversee RF planning projects.
- Identify development needsand provide mentoring to Associate and RF Design Engineers.
- Perform microwave interference analysis as prior to actual RF transmission from a base station of a wireless network, remove or relocate microwave links toavoid any interference caused by the wireless system.
- Measure field data for thebase site to identify RF signals frequencies and respective powers.
- Define the requirements and establish the design criteria to identify the network planning tools touse and the required databases.
- Perform measurement integration into the planning tool; in order to tailor the tool for the specific design market environment.
- Identify base station sitesfor system coverage provision, and perform site surveys with other network implementation teams, in order to verify suitability of thesites for zoning, acquisition and construction.
- Implement high performance operational wireless networks which include initial RF network design,re-design, regular design reviews, RF build verification, system RF acceptance, optimization and continuous technical support to all deployment teams.
- Find methods to fine tune planning tools, and BTS parameter optimization.
- Four or more years experience as a RF Engineer with two or more in a management position.
- Comprehensive knowledge ofGSM, CDMA and IS-136 system specifications.
- Working knowledge of network monitoring tools and evaluation of statistics for system status and performance generated at O&M center and other network nodes.
- Proficient in comprehensive planning tools, e.g. PlaNET, Odyssey, CellCAD and QED.
- Knowledge of GIS package
