System One is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the design and development of advanced nuclear reactor technology. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams developing next-generation energy systems.

Responsibilities

+ Develop 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using Solid Works.

+ Design mechanical and structural components, test fixtures, flow loops, rigs, and sub-scale test articles.

+ Create fabrication and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME standards.

+ Perform tolerance stack-up analyses and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

+ Support structural, thermal, neutronic, radiological, and safety analyses through CAD model development.

+ Conduct design trade studies and recommend optimal engineering solutions.

+ Maintain configuration control of models and drawings using PDM/PLM systems.

+ Participate in design reviews and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams.

+ Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and engineering reports.

+ Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

+ Minimum 7 years of CAD design experience with strong proficiency in Solid Works.

+ At least 3 years of relevant mechanical design experience.

+ Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.

+ Experience creating fabrication drawings and applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+

Experience with PDM/PLM systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience working in the nuclear industry or another highly regulated engineering environment.

+ Knowledge of ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards.

+ Experience coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors.

+ Familiarity with reactor components, nuclear equipment, or advanced energy technologies.
