Position Title:
Senior Electrical Engineer (Compute & System Implementation)
Position
Description:
Protingent Staffing has an exciting Contract Senior Electrical Engineer opportunity located in Bellevue, WA.
Job Description:
This role supports a high-visibility development program for next-generation automated logistics platforms. We are seeking a hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer with strong experience in high-speed digital implementation, power distribution, and hardware characterization. You will focus on the detailed circuit design, module-level architecture, schematic capture, and validation of high-performance compute hardware supporting automated vision, machine learning, and high-speed data processing systems.
- Electrical Implementation:
Lead detailed electrical design and schematic capture for complex PCBAs incorporating multi-core compute platforms, high-speed memory, and advanced peripheral interfaces. - Module Architecture:
Collaborate on system-level hardware roadmaps while owning module-level architecture, power delivery networks (PDN), and functional block integration. - High-Speed Design & Integrity:
Design, route, and optimize high-speed digital interfaces (PCIe, LPDDR4/5, MIPI, USB-C/UFS) while partnering with simulation specialists to ensure robust Signal and Power Integrity (SI/PI). - Power Architecture:
Design multi-rail power trees, high-current DC-DC converters, and power sequencing for high-TDP compute engines. - DVE & Characterization:
Lead board-level bring-up, Design Validation Engineering (DVE), and low-level hardware characterization using high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and compliance testing tools. - Cross-Functional Integration:
Partner closely with mechanical, thermal, firmware, and optical teams to integrate camera sensors, illumination, and compute assemblies into production-ready platforms.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience. - Experience:
6+ years of hands-on electrical design experience with complex digital hardware in consumer electronics, automotive ADAS, medical imaging, or high-performance edge compute. - High-Speed Protocols:
Proven track record designing with high-speed digital interfaces such as PCIe, DDR4/5 or LPDDR, MIPI CSI, and USB 3.x/UFS. - Power Electronics:
Practical experience designing multi-rail power trees, high-current regulators, and power management IC (PMIC) sequencing. - ECAD Tools:
Strong proficiency with Cadence Allegro/OrCAD or Altium Designer for schematic capture and layout oversight. - Bring-up & Validation:
Demonstrated capability in hardware bring-up, debugging, signal characterization, and root-cause failure analysis.
Job Qualifications:
- Compute Platforms:
Exposure to high-performance SoC or SoM platforms (e.g., Qualcomm, Media Tek, NVIDIA Jetson, TI Jacinto, or x86 architectures). - SI/PI Simulation:
Familiarity with SPICE, Hyper Lynx, or Sigrity for power integrity and high-speed line simulation. - Optics & Vision:
Experience integrating camera modules, image signal processors (ISPs), or high-bandwidth vision hardware. - Firmware Interaction:
Ability to work closely with embedded software/firmware engineers to debug low-level drivers and hardware interfaces.
